SAFETY FIRST

     At the Robert F. Phillips company, Safety is a way of life. Years ago before all the safety standards were created, a proactive safety program designed to develop and maintain a safety culture amoung our employees. Just like fastening your seat belt, no one wants to conform at first, but now it comes natural.  The Robert F. Phillips Company’s success would not be possible without a fully implemented and comprehensive safety program. A full time safety director controls safety compliance, education and enforcement. The overall affect of our plan and the efforts of our people have continued to keep our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) consistently lower, currently .88 as of September 2009 much lower than the national average.

 We develop site-specific safety plans and conform the plan to the unique nature of each project. Each customer has differing safety requirements and our safety Director communicates with owners, architects and general contractors to ensure continuity.

 Our employees are required to perform continuing education classes to maintain their city/state plumbing licenses, compenant workers classes for excavation and trenching safety, Haz-comm training courses and classes for awareness in working in confined spaces.
